1. ICAR FUSICONT technology for effective management of the banana fusarium wilt Tropical race 4

ICAR FUSICONT is a unique bio-fungicide that has been developed using a novel strain of the antagonistic fungi Trichoderma reesei (CSR-T-3) obtained from high-stress rhizosphere cultured in a unique modified CSR medium which is under IPR protection. The formulation is the only effective bio-fungicide available in the country for the management of banana wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Tropical race 4. The formulation has been validated in the laboratory, under proper field trials in hot spots systematically. The formulation was subjected to pre-commercialization evaluation over a large area of 273 acres in the hot spot regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with about 85 to 92% success in the disease management. The product has also shown positive results in the control of race 1 banana Panama wilt in Andhra Pradesh in the variety Amrit pani and Tamil Nadu in the variety Karpooravalli under the ICAR-AICRP program. Based on studies under Indian conditions, the formulation appears to be hugely adaptive to the banana Fusarium wilt disease control in India and may have similar effects in banana grown outside India as well.

ICAR FUSICONT technology has been successfully spread to Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for the management of the banana wilt disease.   1. CSR-GROW-SURE: A bio-consortia for enhancing the productivity of agri-horticultural crops

 

CSR GROW-SURE is a unique bio-stimulant that has been developed using the highly efficient salt tolerant bacteria strains CSR-M-16 (Bacillus licheniformis), CSR-A-11 (Lysnibacillus fusiformis), CSR-A-16 (Lysnibacillus sphaericus) obtained from high stress rhizosphere cultured in a unique modified CSR medium which is under IPR protection. The four bacterial strains were made into consortia and cultured on a patent protected media. The formulation was assessed for growth and yield parameters in tomato var.NS585 grown in sodic soils of pH 9.14-9.30 in field experiment conducted at the sodic soil experimental research farm of CSSRI, Regional Research Station, Lucknow in field and pot experiment. The results clearly showed 10 percent more efficacy of the current consortia than the earlier CSR-BIO. The results were further evaluated in banana were CSR GROW-SURE comprising of the bacterial microbial consortia of CSR-M16, CSR-A11 and CSR-A16 resulted in successful cultivation of banana in partially reclaimed sodic soils of pH 9.2. The formulation was further validated in farmers field experiment at Samesi in UP in waterlogged sodic soils for two years.   1. HALO-AZO and HALO-PSB: HALO-AZO is a Azotobacter sp. bacteria that plays important role in fixation of atmospheric nitrogen in soil. This bacterial species is free living and has IAA and siderophore production attribute. When applied to soil, it fixes N and make it available to the plant. It supplements nitrogen requirement of crops and also promotes plant growth under salt stress. It can be used for rice, wheat, mustard, millets and vegetables.

 

HALO-PSB is a Phosphorus solubilising bacteria that plays important role in dissolution of insoluble soil phosphorus through secretion of organic acids and other metabolites. When applied to soil, it converts insoluble form of P to soluble form and makes it available to the plants. Liquid formulation of Halo-PSB can be used for rice, wheat, mustard, maize and vegetables crops.   1. HALO-CRD: Microbial formulation for crop residue decomposition

This bio-formulation of halophilic ligno-cellulolytic bacteria efficient in degradation of crop residues. This is cheap, eco-friendly and effective option to combat burning of residues. It is effective for in-situ and ex-situ decomposition of paddy crop residues and recycling nutrients for enhancing fertility and health of normal and salt affected soils. 6 CSR BIO: Growth Enhancer: Bio-formulation developed using consortia of microbes on patented media (Bacillus pumilus, Bacillus subtilis and Trichoderma harzianum) beneficial microbes which have universal applicability, higher shelf-life and lower cost of production. The consortium of microbes enhance the growth, productivity, nutrient mobilization and support the establishment of plantlets and hence serves as a promoter of growth for crops grown in sodic soils as well as normal soils. The technology is commercialized for state of UP, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
