•  Developing techniques for reclamation of sadic soil

• Conservation agriculture for saline and high water table soils

• Effect of poor quality water in salt affected soils;

• Effect of land use on physico-chemical-biological process in soils under saline environment;

Past Research Areas:

•  (i) Improving quality and resilience of soils under different rice-based cropping systems;

•  (i) Studies on pools of organic carbon in soil profile under different cropping systems and agro-ecological zones of West Bengal.
